Privacy policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

This policy explains how Knatra Tech (formerly Time Pause Studio) (“we”, “us”) handles information in Thangam at https://thangam.knatra.com. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past. It follows India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, for families elsewhere, the core principles of the GDPR.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, an optional display name, and your password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider).
  • What you log: baby profiles (name, birth date, optional sex, measurements, notes) and the entries you record — feeds, sleep, diapers, medicine, temperature, growth and similar.
  • Settings: preferences such as units, reminder sounds and which trackers you show.
  • Your water garden: if you use it, the time of each cup of water you log for yourself.
  • Check-ins: the time each person opens a shared baby’s tracker, so caregivers can see who has looked in.
  • Voice reminders: if you add one, the short recording (up to 6 seconds) or typed message you save as a reminder sound. We ask for the microphone only while you are recording, and nothing is recorded at any other time.
  • Moments photos: if you use Moments, the photos you add of your baby, their captions and the date each was taken. Photos are shrunk on your phone and stored on Thangam’s own server, not with a photo or advertising service. They are visible only to the people on that baby’s profile, and are deleted when the photo, the baby’s profile or the owner’s account is deleted. We ask for the camera only while you are taking a picture.
  • Payments: when you buy a plan, our payment partner Razorpay processes your payment. We receive the order and payment reference and status — never your full card or bank details.
  • Support: messages you send us, and basic technical details you choose to attach (app version, device type, the page you were on).

How we use it

  • To run Thangam for you and the people you invite: showing your dashboard, syncing between devices, reminders and reports.
  • To manage your plan, payments, refunds and referral rewards, and to prevent abuse.
  • To send essential emails (sign-in links, receipts, plan reminders, replies to your support requests).

We do not sell your data, use your baby’s data for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

Who can see your baby’s data

Only you and the people you invite to that baby. You can remove a caregiver at any time from Settings. Our staff access account data only to provide support you ask for, to fix a problem, or where the law requires it.

People who share a baby with you can also see when each of you last opened that baby’s tracker and how many times that day, the name you are shown as, and today’s progress in each other’s water garden (cups against the goal), and they can send you a “drink some water” nudge. Your voice recordings are private to your account and are never shared with other caregivers.

Service providers

  • Supabase — database and sign-in.
  • Razorpay — payments.
  • Brevo — transactional email.
  • Oracle Cloud — the server that runs the website.
  • Meta — only if you allow it: a pixel on our public website and sign-up page that measures which ads bring visitors.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments, and some of them may store data outside India.

Cookies and storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Your device also remembers small preferences such as light or dark mode and snoozed reminders.

On our public website and sign-up page only, and only if you tap “Allow”, we use the Meta pixel to measure which of our ads bring visitors and sign-ups (page views and a “signed up” event). It never runs inside the app and never receives your baby’s data, your entries or your email address. If you tap “No thanks”, it never loads. To change your choice, clear this site’s data in your browser and you’ll be asked again.

Your rights

  • Access and export: download all your entries as CSV or PDF from Settings → Your data at any time.
  • Correction: edit any entry or profile in the app.
  • Deletion: delete a baby profile in Settings, or email us to delete your whole account. We delete account data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (such as payment invoices).
  • Withdraw consent and complain: you can stop using Thangam and ask us to delete your data at any time, and you may complain to the relevant data protection authority.

Keeping data

We keep your data while your account exists. If your plan ends, your data stays safe and you can still view recent days and export it. Deleted data is removed from backups as they cycle.

Children

Thangam is for parents and caregivers aged 18 or over. Information about a baby is entered by their parent or an invited caregiver, who is responsible for having the right to share it.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections, access is limited by account so each family sees only its own babies, and payment details never touch our servers.

Grievances and contact

For any privacy question, request or grievance, email contact@knatra.com. We aim to respond within 7 days and resolve within 30.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email.
